School Wellness Policy
Supporting student health through good nutrition and physical activity.
Healthy Learning
In keeping with federal, state, and diocesan guidelines, Saint Benedict School maintains a local school wellness policy. The policy supports each student’s well-being, growth, and development by promoting sound nutrition and regular physical activity so that every child is ready and able to learn.
The wellness policy sets goals for nutrition education, the foods and beverages available during the school day, opportunities for physical activity, and other school-based activities that encourage lifelong healthy habits.
A school Wellness Committee — including administration, the school nurse, faculty, the athletic director, a student representative, and a Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown representative — reviews the policy and its implementation each year.
