Volunteer Clearances

The clearances required to keep our students safe.

Get Clear to Volunteer

We are grateful for everyone who volunteers to help our students succeed. To keep our children safe, the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania require all volunteers who have contact with students to obtain and keep current the following clearances before they may participate.

Required Clearances

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (PA Department of Human Services)
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
  • FBI Criminal Background Check / Fingerprinting (when required)
  • VIRTUS “Protecting God’s Children” safe-environment training and diocesan mandated-reporter acknowledgment

Once completed, please submit copies of your clearances to the school office. Clearances must be renewed periodically—the office can tell you when yours are due. Use the links below to begin.
